Tyler Toews’ mural series in Gastown called ‘Waste Wear’ features 7 new dumpsters painted with bold images addressing issues surrounding pollution and climate change, both in our community and the around world. From start to finish the process side of this mural series was a year and a half in the making! The collection seeks to spark conversations around the current and future impacts of garbage on the planet, and the need for not just greater awareness, but action.

Find them in Gastown at Harbour Light Alley — off Powell Street, east of Carrall.

As the ice caps dwindle and the plastic island in the ocean grows. This may be an unwelcome option for the iconic Polar Bear.

As this child is finding alternative ways to use the waste, we should also be creative with the waste problem.

The plastic problem. It has become big enough to take down the largest mammal on earth.
