Create Vancouver Society is open to applicants of all races, ethnicities, identities, abilities, ages, and genders, and the organization is keen to review applicants who self-identify as members of groups that are underrepresented in leadership roles.

  • VMF is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to artistic and cultural development in our city. We create experiences that connect people through art.

VMF was formed in 2016 with a vision to transform the way art is experienced in the Lower Mainland. It has evolved from a grassroots street festival into a world-class, multi-media art consultancy and production agency. VMF produces the annual Vancouver Mural Festival (August) and VMF Winter Arts (February). Throughout the year, we collaborate with clients and community groups on public and private arts-driven projects through VMF Agency. To date, VMF has created over 400 murals and continues to reimagine public art and events in our city.

Inclusivity, cultural diversity and artistic excellence are at the core of everything we do. Our events and public art installations serve as catalysts for addressing many of the socio-cultural issues facing our city and artistic communities. Our mission is to create meaningful experiences that connect art and people while highlighting the local culture and vibrance of our region. Highlighting visual sovereignty of local Coast Salish communities, as well as dedicated support for BIPOC and other underrepresented artists and cultural producers is a priority.

VMF is inclusive across our organization and operations, with programming intended for all classes, cultures, genders, ages, abilities, and beyond. We believe it is crucial to the cultural health of the city of Vancouver to create tangible and lasting visual evidence of the rich diversity of voices living and working here. Our artists and events are an effort to reflect the varied histories present in our city and region.

    VMF strives to:

Host Canada’s premiere public art and culture festivals

Develop and maintain a sustainable business operations model/framework

Be regionally trusted partners in civic culture building

Foster a culture of quality, equity, creativity, collaboration and inclusion
