Details: The house design-split-eagle-box represents everything negative and positive, balancing negative/positive spaces, and opening up with the guidance of eagle reveals the movement of spirit bringing healing and nourishment to soul.
The artist wanted to create a indirect positive impact on viewers of this mural. Paul intended this piece to be healing through it’s form/flow/colour/aesthetic. He explains it is a bright side as strong as he can express it: through the art of his culture. Paul explains “Homes (healthy, functioning homes) are safe, sober, clean strong and productive… loyal, nurturing, unified (like this design).”
In line with Paul Windsor’s interest in inter-generational connection his mural was painted with assistance from kids from the Urban Native Youth Association.
About Paul Windsor:
Paul Windsor was born and raised in Kitimat, British Columbia, and currently resides in Vancouver. He began drawing as a young child, and is an ancestral designer who comes from a family of artists. Paul also has a large interest in music and a love for the planet. His paintings, typically on the mediums of paper and wood, frequently feature positive imagery depicting the natural world. Paul’s artistic motivation stems from a drive to bring people together from different generations from his culture.
