PARTIES WITHIN A PARTY!? Our Mount Pleasant Street Party is an epic celebration to say the least, but there’s so much going on in this 14 block radius that things can easily be missed… and trust us, you do NOT want to miss these parties. Along with our Four Beer Gardens, there will also be a disco party, beach party, hip hop party, and park show! We know, we know… it’s a lot. BUT we are providing you these blogs to help you find ways around the conundrum of FOMO and to give you ALL the details so you can choose which ones you NEED to be at. Get out a pen and paper, make a VMF PARTIES NOT TO MISS list, and jot down your favs...or just source out a device that can give you the ability to be in multiple places at once.
PUBLIC DISCO
Where: 7 ½ Lane and Manitoba Street
When: 12PM - 9PM
If you love to groove make sure you and your friends carve out some extra time to spend at Public Disco. Situated at the two level outdoor parking lot on the corner of 7 ½ Lane and Manitoba Street, it is prime space for their Laneway Series party. Connecting Vancouver through music and dancing since 2017, Public Disco has mastered the art of “creating a space that celebrates queer identity, encourages vibrant self-expression, showcases a diverse array of artists and provides low barrier opportunities for the public to enjoy music and dancing side by side.” This party will have the widest array of fun and refreshing drink options including Nude, Lonetree Cider, and Granville Island Brewing. Additionally, make sure you catch house music staple Pezzner headlining the Public Disco stage!
BONDI BEACH PARTY
Where: 123 East 6th Parking Lot
When: 12PM - 8PM
We’re bringing the beach to Mount Pleasant because it’s a damn good idea and it’s going to be a great time. This FREE, all ages space will have DJ’s playing with an area for dancing and an area with comfy seating for chilling. For those looking for some friendly competition there will be a spike ball tournament and sponsor prize giveaways! Drinks you ask?? Of course. Arguably being one of Vancouver’s favourite beach beverages it’s only fitting that Hey Y’all will be present and providing their refreshing vodka iced tea. While you make your rounds of the party make sure to visit Bailey Nelson too! Bringing their style all the way from Bondi Beach in Australia, their shades are the bees knees; truly the perfect addition to your eyewear collection, or they may just save the day if you forget your sunnies!

4 ELEMENTS OF HIP HOP PRODUCED AND CURATED BY: SHAPE SHIFTER STUDIO
Where: Main St. & 5th Ave. Parking Lot
When: 1PM - 8PM
A FREE daytime all-ages fam jam honouring the four elements of Hip Hop: Breaking // DJ'ing // MC'ing // Graffiti. At this party we always tell people to expect the unexpected. It’s absolutely jam-packed with good vibes, music, dancing, and culture happening literally all day. Find free workshops and an All Styles Street Dance Battle that's fun, low pressure, and in a loving environment. But still a battle, so come correct... $600 cash prizes will be given away!
There will also be a Live Music Cypher, Turntablist demo and Hip Hop History Lessons, a dance performance honouring the evolution of Hip Hop Dance Culture, and NEW Graffiti Murals dedicated to Holden Courage going up. And to end this epic day of Hip Hop? There’s no better way to do it than with an all vinyl DJ set with top hip-hop selects from DJ Flipout’s record collection. The 4 Elements of Hip Hop is truly a space for everyone. Worried about getting on the dance floor? Grab a beer and watch from the sides! Craft beer will be curated and available in the space from Vancouver Craft Beer Week.

Produced by Live Nation and Blueprint Live as a finale to the Vancouver Mural Festival, the all-ages community concert will feature performances by New York singer-songwriter LP, electronic instrumentalists badbadnotgood, Canadian Indigenous artist iskwē and local Vancouver legend MY!GAY!HUSBAND DJ’ing throughout the show with Music Stage presented by AIRMILES® Stage Pass.
Focused on cultivating acceptance and diversity within the community, The Park Show has once again been curated as an inclusive, family-friendly event and has aligned itself with the Vancouver Mural Festival’s ongoing celebration of public art and culture.

POP UP ROLLER RINK - PRESENTED BY ROLLA SKATE CLUB
Where: Main St. between 11th and 12th Ave
When: 3PM - 7PM
Break out of your shoes and into a pair of classic rollerskates with Rolla Skate Club, right in the middle of Main Street! Get your heart rate up and feel the wind in your hair as you roll and bounce to the sounds of the Main Stage DJs and artists. BYO skates, or rent for $10 from the Rolla Skate Truck. Maybe you'll bust out some tricks from your childhood (shoot the duck, anyone?) or learn some new ones from our jam skaters on site. Everyone is welcome, and protective gear is available (little kids should bring a bike helmet). Rolla Skate Club is a community of bad-ass women on wheels, and we hope you'll join the party!
