VANCOUVER, BC (Jun 19, 2019) – Following the inaugural success of The Park Show in 2018, the event returns to Jonathan Rogers Park on Saturday, August 10. Produced by Live Nation and Blueprint Live as a finale to the Vancouver Mural Festival, the all-ages community concert will feature performances by New York singer-songwriter LP, electronic instrumentalists badbadnotgood, Canadian Indigenous artist iskwē and local Vancouver legend MY!GAY!HUSBAND DJ’ing throughout the show.
LP, aka Laura Pergolizz, has written songs for megastar artists including Cher, Rihanna, Backstreet Boys, and Christina Aguilera. LP released their fifth full-length album “Heart To Mouth” in 2018 with Billboard, Paper, Out Magazine, V Magazine, Interview, British Vogue, and more all singer her praises. In addition to show-stopping performances everywhere from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Late Show with James Corden to Conan and Jools Holland, LP has graced the stage at Coachella, Osheaga, Outside Lands, and Mad Cool. Their biggest hit to date, the title track “Lost On You,” eclipsed 500 million-plus streams and went platinum in Russia, Poland, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, France, and more.
Also on the line-up is Toronto quartet, badbadnotgood, who have been described by Prefix Magazine as “jazz trio on paper -- but often strange, forever imaginative, and ultimately revolutionary hip-hop and electronic beatmakers at heart.” Plus not to be missed performances by award winning, Indigenous pop and electronic music singer, iskwē and king of the mashup, MY!GAY!HUSBAND..
Focused on cultivating acceptance and diversity within the community, The Park Show has once again been curated as an inclusive, family-friendly event and has aligned itself with the Vancouver Mural Festival’s ongoing celebration of public art and culture.
